  1. The 20th trading year of Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd as now passed, it brought massive change to every aspect of our company with 3 new extensions to our factory and storage units, new plant and equipment, lots of new staff members, increased capacity throughout our production facilities and improved processes. The plans for a huge office extension have been drawn up and are almost ready to be passed to the quantity surveyors and builders so that they can start the hard work, this will hopefully be completed the first quarter of 2017.

2016 also saw Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd obtain the brand new ISO 9001:2015 standard, we are one of the first within our industry to obtain this new standard. Our new certificate can be viewed and downloaded at http://mrp.advancedseals.co.uk/documents/asgisoquarcert.pdf

  2. Did you know!

Around 1493 – 1496 : Christopher Columbus discovered natural rubber in Haiti where he saw the natives there playing with ball made from the “sap” of a tree called “cau-uchu.”
In 1736 : Natural rubber was introduced to the western world by Charles de la Condamine.
In 1770 : John Priestly found that natural rubber could erase or rub away pencil mark, hence he called the material “rubber.”
In 1820 : Thomas Hancock invented a machine called “masticater” that allowed the rubber to be softened, mixed and shaped.
In 1839 : Charles Goodyear discovered the process of vulcanization. Vulcanization involves heating the natural rubber which causes a complex chemical change to occur. But in layman’s terms, vulcanizing gives rubber its elasticity and other desirable properties so that it’s useful.
In 1876 : Sir Henry Wickham collected some 70,000 seeds and secretly carried them to London from Brazil. Later years, these rubber trees were planted in large scale in Asia (in places such as Ceylon and Singapore) as well as Africa.

And in 1996 Advanced Seals & Gaskets Ltd started manufacturing bespoke top quality Seals and Gaskets made from a huge range of rubber.
